In cases where welding on a casting is problematic, is boring the hole out oversize, and install a cryo'd sleeve in a hot casting an option?

Nice save, that's a hell of a grinder! If the braze doesn't up( but I bet it'll be fine ), that looked like a pretty simple part to machine as a last resort.

Travis Koehn Yep, I get that. I just felt the whole thing( content and camera work ) was basically more along the lines of free YouTube content, and not paid subscription material, that I expect from this site.

Good repair, but absolutely no info on the meat of the subject. Where did you locate the stop drill holes? Determining the size of the holes. Did you V groove the crack? Don't mean to be rude, but that was not very informative.
