Ran a practice butt joint on some 304SS exhaust tube( 2.25" OD/.065" wall ), to get in some practice time with my new HTP Invertig 251. Could be worse, but a LOT of room for improvement. Maintaining a consistent bead profile with .040" filler is a sonofabitch! Got decent melt through at 50A, but will bump it up a couple of amps next time. The 5 cfh back purge was sufficient to prevent sugaring. Used a sharp 1/16" C-K LaYZr tungsten, and Fupa 12 cup, and 35 cfh.

A month ago I took on this trailer , making some small odd repairs, including removing that battery, and relocate in side the newly mounted tool box. The real challenge was replacing the hydraulic pump , hose and fittings to match up with the original hydraulic ram. Then figuring out how to wire in the switch for a single action hydraulic line ( manufacturer had it set for dual action)
Finding the right fluid wasn’t to difficult, and with support of a local hydraulic parts supplier it only took a couple of trips. lol
Ill show the hydraulics in action on the next video.

Hi all. I'm Rick.  I've been welding for about 20 years as an occasional part of my job.  Mostly MIG aluminum & steel, and some stick.  I've never had any formal training and I  thought it was time to find out all the things I'm doing wrong and/or "the hard way".  Also, I just bought a TIG welder for my home shop and it is WAAAY more involved than I had anticipated! 😄 I'm looking forward to learning those skills the right way right off the jump.  I feel like I've found the right place to get it done!

Hey everyone, my name is Jeff. Been following Jody for years on YT. I am a retired local government employee. Been mig welding for years and recently decided to try to get my stick welding skills up to speed. Seems quite a bit different to me. Will probably have TONS of questions, so please forgive me. Been using a Miller Syncrowave 200. My mig welder is a Miller 210. I hope to learn a lot on this platform.

Hello to WS members both new and current, use this channel to introduce yourself to the WelderSkills community. Tell us what kind of welding you do, how long you've been in the trade, where you're from, and what you'd like to learn from WelderSkills. This is a good way to find other members and instructors with similar interests, so you can follow each other and get the most out of your membership! Thanks for being a member!

Hello all. I just joined yesterday, I’m Ben and I run CWR (Coody Welding and Repair) in a small town in Midwest AL. After graduating from Tulsa Welding School in Jacksonville in 2019 I worked around for a while and as of last year I started my own welding business. I mainly do heavy equipment repair with here recently I’ve done a good bit of aluminum boat repair. I’m hoping to branch out more and get more work to hopefully become full time self employed now that I’m getting more attention and with my new plasma table. I came here to learn more and invest more skill into my business and since I’ve listened to the Welding Tips and Tricks Podcast since high school, watched ones like Jody, Roy, Jonathan and many others since then as well I know there’s going to be lots of stuff for me to pick up and learn from. Thanks!

I’m Joey, one of your WelderSkills admins and Jody’s sons. I’ve been learning to MIG weld with dad for a few weeks now and I’m really enjoying it. You’ll hear from me a good bit in the future, but thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself using the new community feature.

I’m looking forward to all the cool stuff our members are going to post once we go live with the new platform. It’s gonna be a lot more fun around here for sure.

I’d also like to give a big thanks to all the members who have stuck with us through all of this, and for bearing with us as we migrate the WelderSkills service to something that will be a lot better!
