Martin Rubenstein I will try those ideas on the next few ones I have to weld. Thanks for the feedback!

I think that is what's going on. I have a fee more to do so I will try it again with less gas flow on the flush setup. Thanks for the info

I was leaning towards it being how the shielding gas is leaving the nozzle like you said at the end...here is the setup.

Welderskills!
I am welding tig aluminum and check out how much the stickout changes the bead appearance. The flush with the cup tungsten was more difficult to weld as well as a more erratic arc. What do you think is happening here?

Francisco Soto exactly... I do not think I have taken the same test twice.

Martin, thanks for watching.... these airlines feed into a regulator and then a machine. Both of these have really small openings that I think could get clogged with the dust and splatter that a 6010 leaves inside the pipe. When I do these jobs there isn't a way to clean or blowout the piping before they're in service. That is way I choose tig on this pipe.

On the ladder thing, I wouldn't say complacent but comfortable. I've worked off ladders for quite a bit of my career (more than the time I work at a table) so I feel at home on a ladder. I understand I am a walking OSHA violation and I dont think I'm a good example "proper safety" but I would bet if you asked the guys that have worked for me or around me that their safety was first and foremost. I feel I am aware of the dangers in what I do and try to take minimal risk but there is always risk.

Nice! That's good to hear... don't rush it and learn everything you can about everything around you. I kind of wish I worked more before trying to start my own. Might have avoided a few headaches but that's awesome to hear you're working towards that. I'm glad you get other things from my videos besides welding. Thanks for watching!!
