Threaded table holes is pretty cool. I have been building my own brackets and using bolts and nuts underneath to hold down parts. Where did those brackets you had in the video come from? One was different from the others?

It's got .30 wire 75 25 gas mix it has four heat settings I'm usually on two welding sheet metal but I was on three due to welding the bracket that's maybe 3/32. I ran a grinder over all the steel so it's perfectly clean. But this has been happening everywhere I noticed that yesterday I'm a bit low on gas but it has been acting up like this since I filled this bottle. The nozzle is dirty enough that I feel like the gas is not passing through like it should. I went to the weld shop and they didn't have the correct nozzle because it's an older machine. So I will have to research elsewhere. Anything else you want to know?

Thanks for the tip. I have a small go pro style camera. I am going to try to record some passes and see. When you say lit? Are you talking about the arc happening in the video or are you talking about the camera like the way we see all the videos on Tig shots?

What is that big flick of the torch on the end of the weld there?

My miller 135 mig machine has started acting up and I'm not sure what this is all about. Sometimes the weld is full of holes and once I stop pulling the trigger the weld puddle will grow a snake deal like the old fireworks for kids, it's behaving like there's no gas. The nozzle is dirty I've tried to clean it up but it seems like maybe a new nozzle is in order. What cause this type of malfunction?  Any answers would be helpful. Liner? Wire corrosion? Nozzle? Gas issue? See the large hole inside? Now I have to cut that out and get the weld in there correctly. But this is frustrating. Thank you welderskills JODY COLLIER

If you're using 5/8 or 3/4 stick out am I doing wrong using less stick out say 3/8 or should the rule of thumb always come into play, stick out same as cup openings?  You seem to be using a longer stickout for filming purposes. But what should I be doing at home?  Am I going to cause myself issues with to much stick out?

This question is for JODY COLLIER since I joined this forum after watching YouTube videos hoping to learn from you. I have a body shop and I make rust repair panels and weld with my millermatic 135 all the time. I have never been taught a single thing about welding and never really got better. I mean I can get away with mig welding but I want to Tig and grow my skills. So I have been practicing like you said running beads and I can't seem to do anything decent on steel but am able to find myself creating better and better welds on aluminum. I need to understand why even when I'm following your parameters for 1/8 steel my welds are grey and my heat affected area is huge having no thin edge I guess the cleaning action like on aluminum. I am a very beginner to Tig with that being said where can I get the information I need to weld steel better?  Can you help me. Thank you for your time. A couple of pics one because if you can weld the blades that's cool and the other to show you my struggles in hopes for your point of view

Sure does I realized the higher the arc the more it tickles. I'm just afraid I was gonna get hit hard 220 volts ya know.

Got some more practice in today sat down and welded this coupon paying attention to my arc trying to stay steady with the filler.

I'm wearing sleeves, got a arc burn on my neck so I stay protected. I'm sitting on a metal oil can.  Maybe I need a new throne. What do you sit on?
