JODY COLLIERok thank you I watched the video 3 times here and have a good idea. I need to watch my torch angle I think I'm leaning back to far. I need to watch my arc length which I feel I'm doing ok with but the torch being leaned away to far is why I'm not getting that tight arc I'm after. Keeping the filler rod in the shielding gas and paying attention to my heat. I also think one of my problems is I need to slow down and also get a quench bucket for practice. Thank you Jody Collier. I'm going back to the weld table today.

These may be the answer to my question on how to have a good practice setup. I'll give this a try tomorrow

Watching this video again as I am still struggling to gain quality in Tig Welding steel. I set my amps same and using same thickness of steel and can't seem to make it go. I'm running as fast as I can go but then I'm not pushing the puddle forward and the filler rod is sticking to the work and I feel like I'm just missing the mark all together. What can I do to practice and get myself in a position where I'm having a decent weld on steel?

What wall thickness is the metal? And what amperage did you use ?  Looks good and has good colored welds.

I'm trying to Tig steel to improve my skills at my body shop. Welding steel is tough with Tig.

Good stuff man that's a lot of welding. I'm doing the same thing trying to learn myself. It's hard to Tig and even when you have a good idea of what the parameters are getting it all to come together is another story. I was welding today and started to feel the way that adding more filler rod cools the puddle and adding more filler or less is like art you just gotta feel the work and what needs to be done in that moment.

Don't know if you saw but just before Christmas I joined up and wanted to ask a bunch of questions. And it was crickets in the forum. So the admin Joey responded and made a new section in the forum called questions and in that section you can also tag anyone of the welderskills instructors by adding there name and the @ symbol. Hope this helps.

I found this today after digging into the topic of changing that cable. I was hoping you might watch this and tell me what you think. And if this is worth the effort. I'm sure it voids the warranty
